I Beat Osgood

Equipment

Simple equipment.
No expensive gym required.

Five items, the same ones Ethan uses. You don't need everything before Week 1.

Equipment is not included in the A$99 digital program price.

  1. Week 1

    01

    Foam Roller

    Daily foam-rolling routine

Ethan uses the Celsius Soft Therapy Roller, 45 cm.

  2. Week 1

    02

    Yoga / Exercise Mat

Glute bridges, face-down glute lifts, floor stretches and foam rolling

A comfortable, non-slip mat about 6–10 mm thick. A basic, affordable mat is fine.

  3. When adding weight

    03

    Adjustable Ankle Weights

Seated Quad Holds, once weight is introduced

Ethan uses Sportneer adjustable ankle weights, sold as a pair, with five removable sandbags of about 0.27 kg in each weight — so weight can be added one bag at a time. Ethan started with no bags. A full set weighs about 3 kg for the pair (around 1.5 kg per ankle). If you can't find that brand, the similar set linked here has the same light straps and the same maximum.

  4. From Week 3

    04

    Balance Pad

    Stretching (from Week 3)

Ethan uses the Celsius Balance Pad for his stretches.

  5. Recommended

    05

    Patella Knee Strap

Highly recommended — it's what Ethan uses

Ethan uses the McDavid Patella Knee Strap. It's support for training and sport, not a treatment for Osgood-Schlatter.

For cricket batting: Ethan wraps a D3 cohesive compression bandage below the kneecap as his strap, because it's thinner under his batting pads. Wrap it firmly but not tight — loosen it if the leg tingles, goes numb or changes colour.

Product links show what Ethan uses. Prices and availability change, and similar products work too. You'll also need a sturdy chair for Seated Quad Holds.

Before Week 1

Get ready for your journey

Needed from Week 1: foam roller and mat. Seated Quad Holds: Ethan started with no added weight, so ankle weights can come a little later. From Week 3: balance pad for stretching. Highly recommended: the patella knee strap Ethan uses.

You don't need everything before Week 1 — the balance pad is for stretching (from Week 3) and ankle weights come in once weight is added to Seated Quad Holds. Equipment is not included in the A$99 digital program price.
